- Replacement of missing pump component
- A customer had thrown away or lost a critical component of slurry pump. The pump was installed in location that made removal impractical. All of the mating components were measured in the field with hand tools. Once back at the office with hand sketches and measurements, a suitable replacement part and product machining print were created the next day and the new component was produced and ready to be successfully installed within three days of the project starting.
- Medical mask testing device troubleshooting and correction
- A medical testing lab had a device to test pressure drop across a mask. The clamping mechanism only worked for one thickness of mask material and even then didn’t seal completely, leading to inaccurate results. The clamp mechanism was redesigned to be adjustable and to have some float for self alignment and now performs as intended for a wide range of material thicknesses.
